I have many wonderful memories of going to St. Catharines every summer as a child, teenager and young adult. Uncle Steve always offered me a place to stay on my visits and he loved to cook his favorite foods for us. Like rabbit stew, (not for me) and he would make ethnic foods ranging in the Yugoslav/Polish/Ukraine food groups. My favorite dish he made was the Palachinkas and last week I found I lovely picture of Uncle Steve from the early 70's. It was taken in the house on Garnet Street and he is leaning forward with his face next to a nice big tray of fresh from the oven Palachinkas. I remember the day he made them and marveled at his JOY of cooking. He would always make me feel at home, and always called me his Angel.
Even though the years flew by and the past few years I haven't been able to visit my birthplace as often as I would like, some of the best memories in my life are of Uncle Steve. I love you and will always carry a piece of your love in my heart. God Bless your family as they mourn your loss. I know you will be greatly missed.
Love the real Sheila, (Angel)

My dear brother Steve,
Life is full of memories. I have so many of you I don't know where to begin.
One that comes to mind, is when you and I took the train out west & we were nearly put on the wrong train to Montreal. Well, Steve, I guess you got on the right train, to heaven this time, and I will go to the Edmonton train alone.
We will miss you dearly,
Your loving sister and brother-in-law,
Ida and Tic

A tribute to my Dad...
My Dad was a loving son, a wonderful brother, a happy uncle, a great husband, but most of all to us, his children, he was simply the best father a child could ask for. From the moment we were able to hop into the car, we would join my dad on his adventures...to "see the boats" was his favourite so of course, it was one of our favourite family outings. He saw us through a lot of sorrow and laughter in our lives. He was always there for us and adored by us. Simply put, Dad just loved being a dad.

Uncle Steve will be sadly missed by all of us. He was one who truly showed what it meant to love life.
My childhood memories are filled with fun and laughter whenever Uncle Steve was around. When he came over, he was quick to win us over with a bag of licorice and a big bright smile. Mom would offer him a plate of cabbage rolls or piece of chiffon cake, and I would hear him say "Oh, that's beauuuutiful Noonica".
I remember trips to Lynden in the big green station wagon, with country and western songs on the radio, and Uncle Steve always singing along.
Uncle Steve had nick-names for us all. To me, it was "How's my Vinny Travolta?". We always got a kick when he called my brother-in-law "David of Arrrgyle, if ya' don't mind!"
Thank you Uncle Steve for being the most jolly and loving uncle. Heaven's just become a whole lot more fun with you there.
With love,
Vince (Vinny)

49 Garnet Street was my second home.....my very best playmates lived there, namely, Theresa, Joanne, Steve and Paul. Aunt Joan and Uncle Steve were special to me as a child. Uncle Steve always made everything fun, he was always happy, plus he ALWAYS gave us red licorice. Uncle Steve.....the best uncle a niece could have!! With loving thoughts of my Uncle forever more, Carolyn Potts

Our heart goes out to you, Theresa, Joanne, Steve, and Paul
You had the best Dad anyone could ever wish for!
Uncle Steve was one of the kindest, most loving, most caring and gentle person we have ever known.
We were lucky enough to have him as our Uncle and now we're sure that everyone in Heaven is having a great time, as I'm sure Uncle Steve is up there causing a ruckus!
His claim to fame, "Maria, my sweetie, I taught you to walk and talk"
Uncle Steve, we will never forget you! We will always remember running outside every time we saw that station wagon because Uncle Steve always had a bag of licorice or chocolate bars for the Collini kids!!
We will always remember his great BIG smile, his contagious personality, and his love for life!!
May he rest in peace.
With love, Maria & Graham
