Obituary of Brian Scott McMulkin
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that our family announces the sudden passing of Brian Scott McMulkin, on Wednesday March 4th in his 65th year. Beloved husband of 32 years, Catherine McMulkin (nee King). Loving father of Angie (Chad) and Tony (Lindsay). Cherished and proud Grandpa of Charlotte, Mason, Tyson-James and Quinn. He will also be missed by his brother Rick (Debbie), sister Penni (Wayne), brothers Dave, Greg (Lori) and Rob (Lori), nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Loving son of the late John Donald (Don) and Patricia Ann.
As a family we continue to be proud of Brian who served on the Toronto Police Service for 28 years within various aspects of policing from motorcycle to plain clothes to warrant officer, receiving the Board of Commissioner of Police Accommodation for Police Service of Unusual Alertness and Initiative. After retiring, Brian found his fondness and green thumb for plants and gardening while working in the horticultural industry for several years. With Cathy’s shared passion for travel, Brian was able to see many wonderful parts of the world and enjoyed sharing stories from their travels over a good cup of coffee.
Brian was respected within the Christian community and served on many missions throughout North America, the Caribbean and Europe. An avid reader (reading 20+ books during his recent trip to South America), with a love of word puzzles and history, Brian was a wealth of knowledge and wisdom. Brian also enjoyed music, woodworking and walks outside taking in the surrounding nature.
Most recently, Brian was appreciative of the opportunity to serve the community of Newport Quay as President of the Condo Board. He will be greatly missed.
The family will receive visitors at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines, on Wednesday March 11th from 7 - 9 p.m., and Thursday, March 12th from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. with a celebration of Brian’s life at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel. Interment service to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
