Eugene Kurowski 1935 – 2020
Passed away peacefully at home on July 11, 2020 with family by his side. Beloved spouse of 59 years to Eugenia (pre-deceased). Loving father to John (Sandy), Richard (Amy) and Christine (Chris). Cherished Grandpa to Cassandra and Nicolas.One of four brothers, Eugene is survived by Louis and Stanley. He is predeceased by his brother Edmund. He began working for General Motors when he was 17 years of age, riding his bike to work every day every season and then retiring at age 55. Upon retirement he took up astronomy spending time gazing at the heavens above. He loved spending time in nature fishing and camping at his favorite place, Stoney Lake. Eugene had a life long interest in gems and minerals acquiring a large rock collection over the years. Eugene was a man who enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, quiet time at home or out enjoying nature. Eugene will be deeply missed by his friends and family.
The family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines, on Sunday, July 19 – 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will take place on Monday, July 20 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 5 Oblate St. St. Catharines Ont., to be followed by burial at Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
As per the Province of Ontario Covid-19 regulations - visitation and funeral attendance is limited to 30% building capacity.
All guests attending the visitation or funeral must bring a mask.
Guests will line up at social distancing requirements of 2 meters upon entering the visitation room.
There will be a brief opportunity to pay respects to the family and their loved one.
Cemetery attendance is limited to 50 guests.
