Obituary of William Vincent Howe
HOWE, William "Bill"
Peacefully on Monday, February 6th at Linhaven Home for the Aged at the age of 86.
He leaves behind his loving wife Rose of 64 years and his much loved children Sandra (Jim) Karn, Lynn (Bob) Murray, Wendy Howe and Gerry (Sue Conrad) Howe. Cherished Papa of Summer (Brandon) Schafer and Dr. Robert (Pam) Murray, and loved great grandfather of Brady Schafer. Also survived by his sisters in law Mamie, Lillian and Ann, and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his son William Thomas, his brothers Gerald (Lillian), Paul, Ted and Justin.
Bill retired from General Motors after 38 years and was a World War II Naval Veteran. He was also a Past President of the St. Catharines Junior B Falcons, and a lifetime member of the Old Boys Lacrosse Association.
Mr. Howe's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Wednesday, February 8th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Vigil Prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Wednesday at 3pm. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Denis Catholic Church, 230 Lake Street on Thursday, February 9th at 11am. In accordance with his wishes, cremation will follow the service with a private family inurnment at a later date in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated by the family.
