Konefal, Lidia 1954 – 2020
Lidia Konefal (nee Ślusarczyk), 66, passed away peacefully on July 26th, 2020 at the St. Catharines General Hospital with her husband, Walter, and son Jarek Torbur by her side. She was a touching example of how to celebrate a rich and fulfilling life. Her life began in Częstochowa, Poland and she immigrated to Canada in 1986 where she eventually settled in St. Catharines, Ontario. Lidia and Walter met almost 20 years ago and had a beautiful marriage of 17 years together. As Walter reflects, “She is my one true love. Lidia brought me so much happiness. I miss her very much.” She enjoyed spending her time entertaining and socializing with friends. Lidia in all essence was truly the life of the party – always bringing up interesting conversation and bringing joy to others. Lidia loved her son, Jarek, with all her heart. She was committed to instilling her son with strong values and focused on providing him a good life. Dearest Lidia, you will truly be missed and forever in our hearts.
The family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines, on Thursday July 30, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. followed by a chapel service at 12:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Victoria Lawn Cemetery after the service. Lidia’s family would appreciate donations to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Polish Catholic Church.
As per the Province of Ontario Covid-19 regulations - visitation and funeral attendance is limited to 30% building capacity. All guests attending the visitation or funeral must bring a mask. Guests will line up at social distancing requirements of 2 meters upon entering the visitation room. There will be a brief opportunity to pay respects to the family and their loved one. Cemetery attendance is limited to up to 100 guests.
