Bobbie will live in our thoughts as the dear friend she was. Alex and Emily both benefited from Bobbie's heartfelt compassion and understanding. Leanne and I were always drawn in by her smile and love of family (and the odd glass of wine)! We look forward to celebrating her life with you Paul, Cassidy and Carter in the summer of 2021. I was lucky to spend a year with you as your sister. When you were at college Brooklyn and Manhattan spent nights in my room. When you came back, you they went straight to you.
It’s easy to understand why they did this. They knew you. They knew your incredible loyalty and concern for those close to you. They felt safe with you.
I recall your confidence when you stated to me: "You're a Tomenson now". It was that simple to you. Family dinners, fundraising events and family gatherings - you made it clear that I was part of the family. When it was clear that in some areas I was totally helpless at being a Tomenson (I refer to my pathetic attempt at becoming a Golfer.. even taking Golf as one of my subjects), you were quick to forgive and accept me. I recall your acceptance of my ineptness at the annual Family Golf Day. You recognised I was a hopeless golf-case so instead let me take the wheel on a wild spin in the golf cart, citing: "If we get caught, I'll take the wheel."
I had the privilege of returning for your wedding and saw your love and excitement. Over the years I watched your clan grow from across the ocean. I was so fortunate to have Cassidy close for a few months... And the best part... Getting to spend a few amazing weeks with you and Paul as I had the opportunity to take you around SA. Oh how I wish I could rewind to the night at Asara where Jim Cuddy played to us, their private audience.
The laughs I had with you in 1991, and again in 2016 are memories I will cling to.
You will be remembered as an amazing woman, fierce protector, beyond loyal, strong, funny and a great friend across oceans.
Bobbie you are missed xx
Paul, Cassidy, Carter, Rogers, Tracy and Kelly my heart is aching for you.
Much love Jill xxx

I have so many wonderful memories of my Aunt Bobbie; to sitting in that very hot church the day Uncle Paul and Bobbie got married, to surprising Uncle Paul in Ottawa for a quick drink, and to have those last peaceful moments with her this past summer at the cottage on Sharbot Lake.
She loved her family beyond measure and I know she will be missed deeply by so many. I am lucky to have been able to be part of your life journey and to have called you my aunt. My heart goes out to Uncle Paul, Carter and Cassidy, there are no words to describe our deepest condolences.
Rest in Peace Bobbie.

Dear Paul, Carter and Cassidy. It is with such great sadness that we hear of Bobbie’s passing. While we have lost touch over the years, please know that both of you have had a long-lasting positive impact on our lives. You were the ones who introduced us to the serenity of cottage life and the true companionship of an “indoor” dog – particularly labs. After two other dogs, we finally have a lab of our own. We have great memories of little black dresses and tuxedos at the Royal Winter Fair (Gray Poupon) and climbing up a balcony when we forgot the keys to the apartment we shared in Ottawa. Bobbie was so full of life, laughter and love. Her commitment and perseverance are a lesson for us all. We will think of her often and miss her greatly. With love, David, Connie, Courtney and Jessica.

My deepest condolences go out to the Filion and Tomenson families. Mrs. Filion saw potential in me before I saw it in myself, and I undoubtedly would not be the person I am today if it weren't for her influence as my housemaster. She instilled confidence in me, and made sure I was never achieving anything less than my full potential & beyond. She touched the lives of everyone she came across, was a role model and second mother, and she will be missed by so many.

Her happiness and warm smile will remain in our hearts forever. Our deepest and sincere condolences to Paul, Carter and Cassidy. It was an honour to work with Bobbie at Inniskillin and call her our friend. I send my deepest condolences to Mr. Filion, Carter, Cassidy and the rest of the family.
During my 4 years at Ridley I appreciated how Mrs. Filion encouraged leadership and participation both within the Gooderham West house and the greater Ridley community. She was always so proud of the girls in G-West and encouraged us to celebrate our accomplishments and encouraged us to take on new challenges.
I appreciated how she allowed so many girls, both day and boarding students into her home and care. She was always enthusiastic during house and school wide activities and encouraged everybody to participate. Some of her best activities within G-West were certainly the ones where we would celebrate different cultural holidays and when members of the house were able to share about the different countries and cultures they were from.
I hope the Filion family will find comfort and peace knowing that Mrs. Filion was able to be an important person in the lives of so many young women. With each student under her care was able to move forward in life with some of the life lessons that she was able to pass on.

We are so very sorry to hear of the passing of such an amazing housemaster at Ridley College. She was so supportive of all the girls in Gooderham House and was such a nice leader/companion for the both of us at our home away from home. One of our favourite memories with her was when she welcomed us into her home to have homemade paella with her family. It was little touches of generosity like this that made her so special. She played a major part in our time at Ridley and will be deeply missed. Our thoughts are with your family at this very difficult time.
