John,
Lorraine and I were saddened to learn of the passing of May Ella. We have very fond memories of your wonderful, marvelous wife and her upbeat positive ways. We appreciate how you and May Ella helpfully welcomed us to St. Catharines, and Canada, in 1984 when we “emigrated” to begin our delightful fourteen year stay. Always a joy to be with, she impressed with her energy and good humor. Even the competitive style she exhibited in winning so many of the games we played on our trips, such as 99 and hearts, was really neat to behold.
Lorraine and I express our condolences to you, John, as well as your daughters, Susan, Anne, and Margaret who May Ella spoke so highly of in her caring, proud, motherly way, two of whom we got to know. It was easy to remember their names because they were similar to two of our three daughters – Susan and Margaret Anne (abbreviated to Megan). Our third is Katie.
We trust you will hold many, many joyful memories of May Ella that will be of great comfort for you.
Bill & Lorraine McNally

So sorry to hear of May Ella's passing.
I will miss chatting with her at mealtimes.
Unfortunately the covid-19 pandemic has kept me away from visiting weekly at the Royal Henley.
I often enjoyed the golf stories with May Ella.
My condolences to the family and especially John.

To John and the girls,
We are deeply saddened by the MayElla,S passing. We had the unique privilege to share some memorable moments with her and these will not be forgotten. We specially keep in our souvenirs our meetings at our house on the Moisie River en route to our annual Spring pilgrimages to the Watishou River. There, we enjoyed her good company, great salmon fishing and unforgettable moments in her company.
A sanctuary lamp will burn in the Holy Family Church in Sept-Iles to accompany her in her last voyage.
Accept our sincere condolances and the assurance of our continued friendship.
Charles and Edna Langlois.

My condolences to John and his family. I was their neighbour on Camelot Court and had the awesome opportunity to play golf with May Ella. Despite her 80 years of age at the time, and 25 years older than I, she could drive the ball at least 200 yards. Mine was well short of that distance. We had good times and she was so kind to me, as John was too. I’m sorry I had lost touch over the past couple of years. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

I am so saddened by May Ella’s passing and send my sincere condolences to John and the family. I remember such a lovely lady with snappy brown eyes, always full of fun and laughter. So many dinners, dances, showers and weddings from the 70’s to the 90’s with John & May Ella were so enjoyed. Blessings to her beloved family in their time of sorrow and grief. May happy memories of dear May Ella sustain you at this time. Sincerely Marsha Lever (Nielsen)
