Rosita Barriatos 1921 - 2020
“It is with great sadness, but gratitude for a life well lived, that we announce the death of Rosita Barriatos who passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family at the age of 99. Rosita was the beloved wife of Aurelio, mother to 11 children, and Lola to 22 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Rosita was born on June 13, 1921 in Roxas City, Philippines. She was a teacher, earned her Masters Degree in Education, and eventually became a principal of an elementary school. She immigrated to Canada in 1991. Rosita loved to sing, cook for her family and friends, and had a special eye for beautiful things. Rosita was a strong woman who left her impact on many people. She lived life with an incredible sense of pride in who she was, but even bigger pride and adoration for every member of her family. She leaves behind a great legacy of strength, determination, and love.”
