Sincere condolences to the entire MacDonald family on the passing of Nick. He was a great man and he and Bert served as my second set of parents in my teenaged years. Great fun in their kitchen and living room which were always filled with laughter.
Tim was just like a brother and we played competitive fastball for years and though we went to different high schools, we hung out all the time. Nick was always so kind and generous to me and genuinely cared about what I was up to and how I was doing.
Was a great pleasure to be able to see him and Alicia from time to time as he lived one door down from my mother at Jubilee Place. God bless Nick. Rest in peace you richly deserve.

Tim, Neil, Casey and the MacDonald family,
I was saddened to learn today of your dad’s passing. Even as a kid, hanging around with Dean, it was evident to me that your dad was a special guy. His love for his family was obvious. He was a true gentleman. His strong Catholic faith is certain to have served him well. I am sure that wonderful memories of your dad will help you celebrate his life through these difficult times.
My condolences,
Mike Bonomi

I got to know Nick and Bert during the 70’s while Tim and I were high school buddies. We (all Tim’s friends) always felt welcome at the MacDonald’s house and there was always a lot of laughter. What sticks out in my mind is how genuinely interested both Nick and Bert were in us and our lives. My condolences to Tim and the rest of the family on their loss.

Nick and I worked together for many years at the Seaway. He was a dear friend, a joy to work with and a pleasure to know. Even after we both retired we kept in touch. Most memorable to me was our annual luncheon at the Mandarin to celebrate his birthday with Alicia, Dino, Jan and me. So many laughs and such a wonderful time. We share your loss and send to you our deepest sympathy and love.
