BRIDGETT, David Alvin "Dave"
Passed away peacefully at the Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital with his loving wife by his side, on Sunday, June 17, 2012, in his 71st year. Beloved husband of Mary Lou (nee Mason) for 49 years. Loving father of Kelly and Bryan (Mallory). Loving and dedicated Papa to Kristen, Megan and Nicholas. Great-Grandpa to Zachary. Dear brother of Wayne (Bonnie) and Diane. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sisters-in-law Rachel (the late Ernest) Stelmakowich, Reta (Wayne) Malton, Rose (Bill) Irving, brothers-in-law Bill (Geraldine) Mason, Harry (Carol) Mason, Gerald (Sharon) Mason and by his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father Allan Bridgett and his mother Evelyn Manson (nee Curtis). Retired from General Motors in 1996 after 34 years of service. Dave enjoyed bowling, golf, darts and horseshoes over the years, and especially watching Nascar on TV. His special joy was his grandchildren. With a kind and generous heart, Dave sponsored two children for the Christian Children's Fund for 20 years. Special thanks to the staff at Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital. In accordance with Dave's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Dave's life will be held at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., on Friday, June 22, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held prior to the ceremony from 10 a.m.- 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Rankin Cancer Run or to the Children's Wish Foundation of Canada.
