Marion Ann Mikitzel (née Glinski) passed away January 14, 2021 at Heatherwood Retirement Residence in St Catharines in her 86th year. She is survived by her daughters Paulanne Maddaloni (Tony), Yvonne Mikitzel-Spera (Roman Spera) and Loretta Mikitzel (Robert Gareau). Baba will be deeply missed by her grandchildren: Alexis (Brian), Cassandra, Paul, Walter and Alec, and great grandson, Elliot, as well as several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husbands, Walter Mikitzel (1967) and William Kramar (2005), her parents Eva (1990) and John (1993) Glinski, and by her sister Sonya Brendzy (2006). Marion enjoyed entertaining, playing Scrabble and collected dinnerware sets fit for any occasion. She had an extensive hat collection and wore them at every opportunity. Her keen sense of humour was appreciated by anyone who listened to her seasonally changing voice mail messages. Very outspoken and forward, you knew exactly what was on her mind. She was also a renowned perogy maker, and a foodie ahead of her time. Marion was an active member of Sts Cyril and Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church and its seniors` group (Myrhorod) for many years. The family wishes to give special thanks to the nurses from Saint Elizabeth and the caregivers at Heatherwood Retirement Residence. The Mikitzel Family will have visitation at GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Wednesday January 20, 2021 at 2:00 to 4:00pm and 6:00 to 8:00pm. Visitors must call the funeral home to schedule a visitation appointment at 905 937 4444. There will be a private family funeral service held at the funeral home on Thursday January 21, 2021. As per the Province of Ontario Covid-19 regulations - visitation and funeral attendance is limited to 30% building capacity. All family and guests attending the visitation or funeral must wear a mask. Family and guests must call the funeral home to book a visitation appointment time 905 937 4444. Family and guests will be seated at social distancing requirements of 2 meters upon entering the Ceremony Room. Cemetery attendance is limited to a pre arranged family request.
