I feel lucky to have worked with Anita at the beginning of my teaching career. She was a great teacher, a wonderful colleague, and a supportive department head. I learned from her and benefited from her advice. She had a great sense of humour, and I have fond memories of laughter filled meetings of our English Department coffee club. My sincere condolences to her family.

So very sorry to learn of Mme Bonelli’s passing. I fondly remember being in her English class. She was one of my favourite teachers at Confederation. I had the pleasure of seeing Mme Bonelli again a few years ago when my neighbour Mary (her sister-in-law) brought her over for a visit. She was just as I had remembered her xo

Mme Bonelli was such a beautiful woman inside and out. She was my grade 9 and 12 English teacher, and was so kind and gentle, always encouraging. She was my favorite teacher in high school. Such a great woman. My deepest condolences to you Mike and Christine. I hope you can find some comfort in knowing that she has touched many lives over the years.

May your hearts and soul find peace and comfort.
Amités,

As I grow older in life and reflect back on my school years in the french school system in Welland. I also look back at people who left a footprint on my personal beach. Of all the teachers including college years, the one that stands out is Madam Bonelli. As a young boy, she was my home class teacher in grade seven. She was soft but firm when needed, she was kind, thoughtful, and took the time with her students. Until this day I can recite the poem In Flander's Field. When we had school reunions I told everyone she was the best teacher I ever had. I am saddened to hear of her loss and I wanted you, her family to know how she impacted my life. With heartfelt sadness...

My sincerest condolences to the family of Anita Bonelli. She was a wonderful teacher, mentor, colleague, neighbour and friend who contributed so much to her community both during and after her teaching career. I first met Anita when she was my Department Head at ecole secondaire Confederation in Welland where she took me under her wing and mentored and inspired me as a brand new teacher. She was intelligent and professional yet kind and caring as she nurtured both teachers and students in the secteur d'English. She was also well-respected in the wider Niagara South Board of Education. Anita will be sorely missed and never forgotten by those who had the great fortune to have known her.

Anita Bonelli was my grade 3 teacher and I always remember her as being an amazing and caring teacher. I actually bumped into her at the outlet mall 2 years ago and we had a nice chat. She remembered me which really impressed me as this was 54 years ago. I send my deepest condolences to her family.
