Obituary of Jeannine Mackie
MACKIE, Jeannine
Our precious mother Jeannine Mackie (nee Wickenden) passed away Monday, February 1st, 2021 in her 91st year. Predeceased by her loving husband William (1974). Jeannine was born October 18, 1929 to the late Gladys (nee Ball) and George Wickenden. The glue of our family, Jeannine was predeceased by son Brian (2009) and daughter Dianne (Chico) (2020) and will be dearly missed by sons Bill and David (Charlene) along with daughter in-law Pam and son in-law John. Loving sister to Conn, Donna, Carol, Nita and Lorna. Jeannine was cherished by her grandchildren Christine, Tania, Tracy, Valerie, Joe, Chris, Jodie and many great-grandchildren; they will always remember Gramma's special Christmas traditions, day trips to the beach or Happy Rolphs Animal farm, or sleepovers when they were younger. Jeannine was raised in Merritton and enjoyed visits to Lakeside Park as a teen. In fact, her dream as a teenager was to get married and raise a family in Port Dalhousie, surrounded by loving family and friends (Check! Check! and Check). Jeannine was always thinking of others; she was a very beautiful, caring person to all of us who were lucky enough to be in her life. Our loss is Heaven's gain. We want to thank the Heidehof family for all of their support; we always felt Mom was safe and cared for like family. A small service for immediate family has taken place with the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. If desired, memorial donations to Heidehof Home for the Aged would be greatly appreciated.
