Maurice (Moe) Joseph Philip Vernon Dumont
It is with a heavy heart and great sadness to announce the passing of our husband, dad, grandpa and great-grandpa. Maurice (Moe) passed away on March 23, 2021 at the age of 90. Survived by his wife Joyce, to whom he was married to for 68 years. He leaves behind his children Marc (Debbie), Tim (Maureen), Rick (predeceased in 1998), Diane (Bill) Fryer and Matt (Marisa). Loving Grandpa to Adrienne, Carter (Marianne), Chelsea (Dino), Andrew (Lisa), Stephen, Jeff (Breanne). Great-grandpa to Jackson, Ryder, Aidan, Portia, Ella, Addison, Mackenzie and Felix. Predeceased by his parents William and Orienne Dumont and siblings Yvonne (Ted) Duemo, Andre (Evelyn), Wilfred and Delores (Sister Andrea). Dear brother-in-law to Larry (predeceased) (Margaret), Beverly (Dave) Lorenzen, Lynn (Jimmy predeceased) Anderson and Terry (Lynda) Baines. Beloved uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Moe started his electrical career in 1949 for Sterling Electric and moved on to Blenkhorn & Sawle as an electrical apprentice. In 1964 he started and managed the new Electrical division at E.S. Fox Ltd. in Niagara Falls. In 1980 he opened his own business Dumont Security which he retired from in 2010.
Moe was very active in the community with memberships in Crime Stoppers, Chamber of Commerce, St Catharines Kiwanis Club, St Catharines Rowing Alumni and the Canadian Henley Rowing Corporation to name a few. He spent countless hours working on various projects with the Canadian Henley Rowing Corporation from the PA system to the lighting and timing systems from the starting gates down to the finishing tower.
In accordance with Moe’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Maurice’s life will take place later this summer. A special thank you to Paramed Health Services for all their help, especially to Ari, Nicole, Cheryl, Barbara and Jennifer. Also to CBI Home Health, especially to Luz, Heather and Percilla.
For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to SickKids Hospital (Toronto) Orthopaedic Clinic, Salvation Army and Red Cross. In keeping with Moe's wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines, ON
