Please accept my heartfelt condolences on the death of your wife, mother and grandmother – Ann Ellens. I would not have known, except that the lovely picture and well-written obituary was in today’s Mitchell Advocate. I didn’t know Ann on a deep personal level, as we only spent time together in a Sunday School class for a few hours on Sunday mornings at the United Church in Mitchell. When I saw the obituary today, I pulled out my old photo album where I have a picture of the 24 of us who joined the church one Sunday morning in May, 1967. Ann had that lovely smile on her face, and except that her hair was shoulder-length and she was wearing a hairband, she had hardly changed over the years. Ann shared the same birth year as me, and I’m so deeply sorry for your profound loss. May you all experience the Lord’s peace that passes all understanding as you grieve.

I was very saddened to hear about Ann passing. I was her hairdresser for many years and I even spoke to her twice while she was in the hospital. She was a lovely lady and we could talk for hours about our families. She just glowed when talking about her grandchildren. Always in a great mood and always had a smile on her face. She will truly be missed. A beautiful women on the inside and outside. I am thankful for her friendship throughout the years. My thoughts and prayers to her family.

Great picture! There are two things I remember and loved about Ann. First her wonderful laugh
We all loved that. Second was the way she would focus on you when talking. She made you feel as if you were the most important person at that moment. You and what you had to say had all her attention. Our thoughts and prayers are with you now.
