My sincere sympathy to the family of Ken McKay. Kenny & I go way back to the days of umpiring at Optimist Park for SPN. He and I spent several times out at Virgil doing what we did the best working as a team on the diamond. He was a very kind, a gentle human being who cared about each and every player on the ball diamond. He was a terrific guy and will be missed by many of the old folks who umpired. Many of us do not do it much anymore but we had great times after the day's work at optimist park upstairs having our chicken meals together. You were a wonderful friend and will be missed, rest easy my friend until we meet again....

I had 15 years of fun times with Ken coaching ladies slo-pitch softball! Lots of great memories with the Jesters, Booze Jays, Roadrunners and Wildcats as well as his old van that was always breaking down. He was a great coach, his favorite adage was "Focus on the technique not the result"! Wise words! RIP Old Buddy!
