Norphy Rossetto

Obituary of Norphy Arthur Rossetto

Norphy Arthur Rossetto (September 29, 1931 -- May 5, 2021)

The good Lord called him home, relieving his pain and suffering. Norphy was a devout Catholic and a lifelong parishioner at St. Alfred Church.

Predeceased by his parents Jack and Lina Rossetto, his brothers Clifford and Angelo and his first wife Myrtle (Clark). Survived by his wife Sandy (Ross), his son Wayne and his daughter Coleen (Bill Klingender), his grandsons Chris Vanier (Paula Letman) and Trevor Klingender and his sister-in-law Jackie White (Hulls) and cherished nieces Christine Rossetto, Michelle (Jeff King) and Leslie (Kevin Hardiman) and all the many Rossetto cousins and relatives. He will be deeply missed by the Miotto, Colavecchia and Pietrobon families. He also cherished the Clark family, including many nieces and nephews, as well as his extended family the McNamaras. Norphy was a wonderful man who will be missed by the multitude of friends he made over the years.

Norphy worked on the family farm, Dominion stores and Thompson Products before retiring from the St. Lawrence Seaway as the Warehouse Supervisor. In the late 1950s, Norphy was involved with stock racing as a pit crew member and later as a track official at Merrittville and Ransomville Speedways. Norphy was a fixture at the Virgil arena, being an executive in minor and Junior B hockey and as a dedicated hockey dad driving the teams throughout southern Ontario. Over this past year, Norphy missed his Monday 5 o’clock wine friends, the Tuesday auctions and the Friday night pizza and wings with the guys.

Norphy always had a joke handy, some were pretty funny but some were groaners. How can you make a soup rich? Add 14 carrots.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or the charity of your choosing.
