Gauthier, Richard Norman (1949 - 2021)
It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Richard Gauthier at the Greater Niagara General Hospital in Niagara Falls on Wednesday May 5, 2021 at the age of 71 years. Beloved husband of Katherine (Kathy) Gauthier (née Swol). Father to Joe (Joanne) of Eden, Ontario and Tricia (Leif) of Southington, Connecticut. Proud Pépère of Spencer, Braeden & Trenton.
Son of the late Joseph and the late Delia (née Blais) Gauthier of Sudbury, Ontario. Son-in law of Helen and the late Walter Swol. Dear brother to Hélène Aitken (late Rolly), Lucien (Claudette), Victor (Kati), Pierrette Lemieux (Jean-Yves). Predeceased by his sisters Hugette Hopkin (late Ted) and Jacqueline Gareau (late Ovila). Dear brother-in-law to Patricia Campell, Linda (Vince) Bevan, Rick Swol (late) and David (Tammy) Swol. He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Richard was a past member of the St. Catharines Business Club and a past member of the Port Dalhousie Lions Club.
Special thank you to all dedicated medical team at GNGH, who took compassionate care of Richard in his final days and allowing Kathy to be with him until the end.
Also, we wish to acknowledge all of Richard’s specialists who, with their assistance took exceptional care of Richard. Dr. S. Pallie, Dr. Ian Brown, (and Dawn for always being so gracious), Dr. B. Rempel, Dr. E. Rabin, and Dr. S. Shulman.
Thank you to CCAC for the great care that you provided Richard for many years, including Teresa, Karen, and all other staff that attended to Richard’s needs. In keeping with Richard's wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines
Memorial donations would be appreciated by the family to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society or Lions Club Foundation.
