Obituary of Martin Paulenko

Martin passed away June 21, 2021, at Douglas Memorial Hospital in Fort Erie. He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Patricia Paulenko; survived by his “second treasure” Rosemary Milne. He will be fondly remembered by his children, Michael (Victoria) Paulenko and Pamela (Andrew Ng) Paulenko; grandchildren Elora (Jeremy) Luymes, Kraig and Jennifer Paulenko; expected great-grandson, Baby Luymes; Jane and Mike Koller who have given constant support to Martin in the last few years.

Born in rural Manitoba to George and Eufrazina Paulenko, Martin was a rough-and-tumble prairie boy who settled in St. Catharines after meeting his wife, Patricia. He made a name for himself as a top agent with Empire Life Insurance Group and found great fulfillment serving clients all over Ontario. Martin was a devoted member of the St. Catharines Free Methodist Church, holding many offices over the years. After moving to Stevensville, Martin’s faith remained a pillar of strength throughout his life and in his final days worshiping at St. James & St. Brendan Anglican Church with Rev. Jody Balint.

Private interment will take place at Niagara Lakeshore Cemetery. An intimate celebration of life service will be held in accordance with gathering restrictions at George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on July 14, 2021 at 1:00pm, with visitation being held at the funeral home from 12pm-1pm.

As per COVID-19 regulations, all guests wishing to attend the visitation or service at the funeral home must call to make an appointment to attend, (905)-937-4444. Seating is limited to 65 people. All guests must wear a mask.
