I was so deeply saddened to learn of Ray's passing. We were in concert band together at BDSS and he was an amazing presence, wry wit, and big heart during all of those years. We reconnected years later and that heart had only grown. I was so grateful to get to know him again and was looking forward to more times together. Ray is and will be missed. He touched many lives with joy and fun.

Sincere condolences to Ray’s family and loved ones. I’m deeply saddened to learn of his passing. Ray is prominent among my earliest memories, going back to Grand Avenue Public School and our Grimsby Beach neighbourhood in the '70s. Meeting again later in high school, there were many good times, especially around music with Mr. Jenken’s classes, concert band and trips to places like Montreal where we billeted together and somehow managed to avoid trouble. Wish we’d had the chance to connect in recent years. Rest in Peace, Ray.

We are diminished with Ray’s passing from our midst. Such a big heart...such a big character. I had the good fortune to be Ray’s high school music teacher and had the privilege to learn much from him, to be subjected to his playful teasing, to experience his care, his warmth and his friendship. May his memory be a blessing. My whole family extend our sincere condolences to Ray’s family and friends. We will miss him.

To Ray's family, I am so sorry for your loss. I went to Jacob Beam School and BDSS with Ray. I remember his smile and the fact that he lived so close to school he could sleep in until 8:30 and make it in time.
Rest in Peace Ray.

To the family, my sincere condolences on this tremendous loss. Ray was so generous and kind. I’m glad I was able to catch up with him a couple of years ago.
“Such a long, long time to be gone,
and a short time to be there.”
