Obituary of Marie McGuire
DORIS (MARIE) MCGUIRE
Sept 9/1915 ~ Aug 16/2021
Doris (Marie) McGuire (nee Stockwell) has left us in her 106th year. Only happiness should be felt for the wonderful life she lived. Born in Cottam in 1915, she grew up with three brothers, Wallace, Garnet and Clifford plus two sisters, Maxine and Madeline. Mom married her childhood sweetheart John Henry (Mic) McGuire. All predeceased. Life with Mic who passed in 1979, although short, was very happy raising two children Lynda and John. She leaves behind Lynda/Doug, John/Sharon, grandchildren Brent, Amber-Lyn/Tyler, Caitlin/Matt and great grandchildren Ash-Lyn and Damien, plus many nieces and nephews and special Godson Bob Bee/Sharon.
She was always up for a party or neighbourhood get-together and enjoyed curling, lawn bowling and too many card games to count. Her last nine years were spent contentedly at Chartwell Retirement Home, Kingsville, of which she spoke most positively.
Her last wish was for cremation and interment with her husband Mic at Evergreen Memorial Park , Leamington. Arrangements to be conducted by George Darte Funeral Home, St. Catharines. Donations please to Erie Shores Hospice, Leamington.
