Marion Irene Simmons (nee Rynehart)
Passed away in her 100th year. Loving mother of Joan Michon & Linda Simmons. Devoted grandmother of April (Dan) Garrison & Leah (Daniel) Borges and Jason & Amber Palombaro, Beloved aunt of Ken (Lise), John (Dilys) and Wayne (Mary) Simmons. Predeceased by Ross Simmons, husband of 59 years, son-in-law Jack Michon, brother & sister-in-laws Art & Pauline, George & Stevie, and Joyce Simmons, parents Jack & Olive (Perry) Rynehart, and infant brother Donald. She was a WWII Air Force veteran. Kind-hearted and generous in all she did, Marion pursued a wide variety of interests including bunka, seniors bingo, quilting and travel. She enjoyed staying active with golf, lawn bowling, and exercise classes and was a member of the Eastern Star organization, Toastmistress and the her various church congregations over her lifetime. A special thank you to all of the staff at Pioneer Elder Care for all of their care compassion. Cremation has taken place. Guests are invited to visitation 5-8p.m. on Tuesday, September 7th at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines.Funeral Service will take place at 12:30pm on Wednesday, September 8th in the funeral home chapel with details on reception to follow. Anyone wishing to attend the Funeral Service must call the Funeral Home to notify of their attendance, (905)-937-4444. Memorial gifts can be made to St. Giles Presbyterian Church or World Vision.
