I learned much from Tom when I joined the Standard as an editor in 2000. Tom truly enjoyed being a journalist. I shall never forget, and I often share, this nugget passed on to me by Tom: "Rob, 'dove' is a bird, the past tense of 'dive' is 'dived." Fond memories. Condolences to his family.
