Obituary of Judy Lortie
Surrounded by the love of her family, Judy passed away peacefully after a fierce battle with cancer on September 23rd, 2021. Beloved wife of Richard, loving mom to daughters Robyn (Rob), Katy (Mike), Allie (and her cat, Monty), Grace (Dillin), and her step-son Adam. Grandma to Lexi and Evan, Madison and Kora, and Ali and Mason. Judy is survived by her parents, William and Patricia Schaubel, and her siblings Amy (Dallas), Becky (the late Dave), Michael (Edna), and Bill. She will also be greatly missed by her several nieces and nephews. She is now reunited with her infant son, David.
Judy lived a life of selflessness and always put others before herself. Above all else, her sense of humour and positivity shone through her until the very end.
Judy’s family would like to extend their thanks to the staff at both the Juravinski Cancer Centre, and the St. Catharines General Hospital (Oncology Department) for their care and compassion.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, September 26th from 7-9pm with Vigil Prayers at 8pm, and Monday September 27th from 10am-12pm at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton St.
St. Catharines. A funeral service will be held in our chapel on Monday September 27th at 12pm with interment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
