My condolences to the entire Blamires Family. Mr. Blamires was a teacher of mine in the 80's and taught me Grade 9 typing in my first year at Lakeport. I may not have been a perfect student but he was always a good teacher. I use what he taught me every day. I often think about him and how I would like to thank him for the countless hours he has saved me over the years. Of all the teachers I had and all the classes I took who would have known Grade 9 typing and Mr. Blamires would be the most practical useful lessons that saved me thousands of hours of the years. Tonight I will toast you with my favourite whiskey on the rocks...I hope that you approve.

I was a student of Mr. Blamires at Lakeport in the 70's and his teaching motivated me to further my business education at Western University that led to a 32-year career at IBM. Teachers can leave a lasting mark on their students and send them on their way to successful careers and happy and fulfilling lives. Your Dad was one of those teachers. With fond memories I send you all my condolences.

I am sorry for your loss. That picture you posted is perfect, and brought back so many memories. I had Mr Blamires as a teacher at Lakeport in the mid 70s. He was such a wonderful teacher. Beyond loving his style, his wit, his intelligence, he influenced my life. His introductions to business classes influenced me and ultimately I ended up getting my MBA. The print shop and store that he oversaw were wonderful experiences. I was so lucky to have known him, such a wonderful man.

Ancell was one of kind. Always enjoyed his company and dry wit while sharing a few of those "whiskeys". Condolences to the family.
