Obituary of Alojz Susa

SUSA, Alojz- It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Alojz (Louis) Susa on Monday, January 3, 2022 at the Niagara Falls General Hospital in his 90th year. He leaves behind his loving wife Mary of over 53 years, his son Tony (Christine) and will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Nicholas and Audrey who were his pride and joy. He is reunited with his son Ed (2018), his parents Ana and Janez Susa, his brother Ivan and sister Ana in Slovenia. He will be deeply missed by his sister Milka (Stefan), his sister-in-law Lojzka and many nieces and nephews all of Slovenia.  He will also be remembered by sister- in- law Josephine (Vinko) Vrhovsek, his niece Helen and nephew John and their families. Alojz was retired from GM and a proud founding member of the Slovenian Home Lipa Park. In honour of a man who always enjoyed getting together with family and friends and celebrating the good things in life, please raise a toast in his memory. The family would like to thank the Staff at the St Catharines General Hospital and the Niagara Falls General Hospital for all their care, commitment and compassion.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton Street, St Catharines on Sunday, January 9th from 2-4p.m. Funeral Service will take place on Monday, January 10th at 11a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment at Victoria Lawn Cemetery to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

*Due to Covid-19 regulations, anyone wishing to attend the visitation must call the funeral home to book a time slot. Time slots are 10 minutes intervals.
