Baxter was a very important man to me through the years. He guided me through scouting helping me to be come a Queen Scout and obtain my SA General's Award. I can remember the many time we spent at scout camps and hikes we took.
Baxter was more than a Scout leader. He was a very fine Christian and became a good friend ..I can remember the time we travelled together to the Salvation Army Camp Sandy Hook in Winnipeg in the summer of 1967 to attend the Pan Am games
Baxter you will be missed.
I can see you playing in the Heavenly band.

Wish we could be there to say good bye and celebrate the life of a special brother in law and uncle. Bax or Uncle Bax as we called him, was full of kindness, love and giving. He and Aunt Edna always made you feel welcome, opening their home to family and extended family on many occasions. He loved telling stories. Many stories. His mind was “as sharp as a tack” as we would say in NL. And we will never forget the many late nights playing growl. So much fun and laughter was had around that dining room table. These are but few of the memories he gave us. The legacy he has left behind. We love you Bax, Uncle Bax.

So sorry to hear of Bax's passing. He was a true gentleman. We still have the Men's club excellent stew recipe. Jim and I enjoyed hearing his tales about early life in Newfoundland. May he rest in peace.

While we are deeply saddened by the loss of our very special Uncle Bax, but we are also filled with joy as we reflect on the tremendous love, kindness and special memories he has afforded us over many years. His home was a favourite vacation destination for our family where we were always warmly welcomed regardless of arrival date or time. We were so blessed to have shared our lives with this wonderful fun loving, genuine, Christian gentleman. We will remember you Baxter with gratitude and appreciation.
Fran, Roy and family.

I was saddened to hear of Baxter's passing. I had the pleasure of working with him in Scouting in St Catharines for a number of years during my time as District Commissioner. Bax always had an uncanny knack of knowing just which document to bring in from home in that little folder he brought to the meeting, so that when we were stuck on some issue, he could quietly smile and say, "You know, I think I might have something here that will help" and out would come the piece of paper with the answer.
He was a wonderful, kind man; a true gentleman. Graham and family, we feel for your loss but we can rejoice with you knowing that the heavenly band has a new member, and that he is reunited with his beloved wife. May God bless you and may your memories be a comfort.

Terribly saddened to learn of my dear friend Baxter’s passing and herewith offer my sincere condolences.
My mind immediately flashed back to our youthful years scouting with the 22nd S.A. St. John’s Scout Troop, out of the old Temple then on Springdale Street St. John’s, where good deportment and love for our fellow man was not only preached, but practiced as well.
It was also my distinct pleasure many times to welcome the Chaytors to our Sunday service when on their annual visit during my tenure as CSM at the Temple. I would seek them out for a hug and a chat at the close of the service…wonderful memories indeed.
May the entire Chaytor clan take heart in James Montgomery’s classic words;
“Soldier of Christ, well done! Praise be thy new employ. And while eternal ages run, rest in thy Saviour’s joy.”
