There are certain things in life that become an indelible part of our soul and being that not even 40 to 50 years of time can erase. There is not a childhood reflection that does not begin without Uncle Pat or Aunt Dot in the forefront of my mind. Uncle Pat, the consummate outdoor chef, and Aunt Dot†™s heartwarming smile and embrace (in fact, now as I type these words, the aroma of the sweet smell of her kitchen surrounds me. I recall the days waiting for Uncle Pat†™s car to turn the corner onto 3rd avenue for many memorable Sunday afternoons with Annette, Linda, Sammy and Lynn. It was the age and time of the incredible nuclear family experience, that sadly, we have all lost somewhere along the way. God bless you Uncle Pat and Aunt Dot. You are both now together in heaven with Grandpa and Grandma Zizian and all of our departed family and extended family. Uncle Pat, I will never forget the trips to the public pool, the arena, the hockey sticks, the Blackhawks Jersey and the fishing trips, and most of all for the incredible job you and Aunt Dot did to make our family memories happy times to cherish and remember throughout all of our lives.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
Cousin Richard Zizian

Pat,
You will be sorely missed by Linda, Sarah, Ruby and myself and we will never forget you and all of the good times that we had with you and Nanny. In fact, just this morning, I was telling the story to Sarah about the time the skeg of my motor went through the trunk of "Red Rider" when you pulled the boat and trailer out of the ditch at the cottage. We all laughed about it so hard and for such a long time.
Thank you for allowing me into your wonderful family and becoming part of a wonderful adventure. Thank you for all of your knowledge, advise and direction over the years, it has shaped me into the person I am today. You were wonderful to me all the time and I am honored and grateful to have known you.

We have great memories of Pat. He was always thoughtful and genuinely interested in others. As a child, he asked me not to sneak into the Burgoyne Woods pool after hours while later in life, he wished Sandy and I the very best when we got married! At family get togethers, we always looked with great anticipation for the arrival of Pat and Dot. The fun would then begin.

Linda, Brian and Sarah you were so dedicated to Pat, always making sure he was well cared for and had what he needed. I saw this everytime he came to the house and he always had a wave and a hello to me if he saw me outside. He was a very fortunate man to have such dedicated family around him. Our thoughts are with you during this difficult time. Hugs from Vicky, Chris and Jessica.

Sorry to hear about Uncle Pat. I know how hard it was when Poppy died. However, I trust the Smith boys area all up in heaven fishing and hunting right now.
I won't be able to make it down for the funeral, but my condolences to Linda and Brian, Annette and Jack, Sam and Nancy, Patrick (both of you), Sarah and Jennifer.
On a lighter note, I would love to share this little tidbit: we still faithfully play "telephone" around the campfire at Golden Lake. And every time I purposefully change what I've been told, I try and make the same face Uncle Pat did every time he'd change what was going around. Of course, most of the time, it was changed to something dirty, but not dirty enough for us kids to understand!
