Obituary of Lorraine Joan Steinman
Steinman Lorraine:
Passed away peacefully on February 26th 2022, in her 85th year; at Extendicare St Catharines. Survived by her husband of 64 years the Reverend William. Daughter Judy (John), grandchildren Bailey (Chris), Taylor (Tom), great-grandchildren Hazell, Tucker, Dawson, and Kensley. Also survived by her sister Mary (John), and sisters-in-law Ruth (Jeff), Emilia, as well as many nieces, nephews, and her many friends. Predeceased by her parents, Professor Walter (Barb) Carpenter, sister Patricia, brothers-in-law Joseph, and Jim, sister-in-law Kathy, and great-grandson Owen.
Lorraine loved to travel, St Maarten became a second home to her; she could also be found volunteering at St. Barnabas Church, The Red Cross, Special Olympics, Girl Guides, and Legion Branch 24, 10th Battery Association. She was also a fan of the Blue Jays and New York Rangers.
Special thanks to the staff at Welland Hospital, and Extendicare St Catharines, for their care and support over the last few weeks.
As per Lorraine’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held on Monday March 7th from 2-3pm. A memorial service will follow at 3pm, in the funeral home.
