Obituary of Joseph Tanios Harb
Harb, Joseph Tanios (April 03, 1943 - February 28, 2022) - It is with a most profound sadness that we announce the passing of our family's pillar, Joseph. Joseph lived a selfless life dedicated to his family & led by his faith & love. Born in the picturesque Mediterranean town of El Heri, Lebanon, Joseph grew up swimming and fishing the sea and hiking their ancestral mountain village of Tannourine with his father. In his youth, he loved adventure & nature where he felt closest to God. Joseph graduated with an Accounting degree from University Pigier in Beirut and then studied at Niagara College where he become fluent in English in addition to French & Lebanese. Shortly thereafter Joseph established his company, J.H. Accounting Services Inc. In 1966, this young cedar of Lebanon emigrated to Canada where he began to build a new life for himself through hard work, education & a passion to succeed. He worked menial jobs to get a start in this new country he called home and in 1969 he bought his very 1st car, a blue ’69 Camaro SS Convertible – his pride & joy. In 1970, Joseph met the love of his life Danita; his partner in what would become their beautiful story. After some courtship, they wed, had blessings of 4 children & the rest is for history. Left to mourn his loss is his loving wife and soulmate Danita (née Kapsiak), his son Jeremy Anthony (Patricia Sfyras), daughters Sandra (Darren Arrol) & Lindy (Brad Gilbart), grandsons Tanios, Jimmy & Harper, granddaughters Marina, Elèna, Lauren, Maya, Abigail & Charlotte, son-in-law Darren Belay (Lily – 2021), beloved brother Dr. Raymond T. Harb (Nawal) & loving sister Genevieve Nohara (Paul – 2019). Joseph is predeceased by his precious daughter Lily who passed away last year & parents Tanios & Therese (Ayoub), brother Elia, sisters Yvette Dergham, Janet Nohra & Juliette Harb.
