Obituary of Lynda Carole Gibson
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lynda Gibson in the early morning of April 9, 2022 after a lengthy battle with cancer, at the age of 79.
Lynda leaves behind her niece, Rebecca and grand-nephews, Michael and Dyson, and many friends.
Lynda was a teacher at heart and this was reflected in her choice of career which spanned the District School Board of Niagara’s Kernahan Park and Laura Secord Secondary Schools, Brock University’s Faculty of Education and the St. Catharines’ Karate School (formerly Seido-Kan Karate).
Lynda was a true innovator in special education, developing many strategies for colleagues and leadership to better help students with a variety of learning challenges.
Lynda’s kindness and generosity has been felt by individuals, learners and educators from Niagara to the Czech Republic where she also taught.
Throughout her life, she was a part of many groups and organizations including, the Retired Women Teachers of Ontario and was involved with many charitable initiatives.
In keeping with Lynda’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and funeral arrangements have been entrusted with GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. Guests are invited for visitation on April 14, 2022 from 2-4 PM and 5:30-7:30 PM.
