Obituary of Dorothy Lou Sloper
Dorothy Sloper
After a long battle with Alzheimers, we are sad to announce the passing of Dorothy Sloper on Saturday, May 28, 2022, a day after her 84th Birthday. Predeceased by her loving husband, Edward. Loving Mother of: Bill (Diane), Cheryl (Ross), Sandra (Phil) and Brad (Nina). Proud Grandmother to: Christine, Andy (Shannon), Matthew (Becca), Warren (Hannah), Brent (Taylor), Brianne (Marty), Pamela, Ethan, Emily and Ella. Great-Grandmother to: Owen and Hailey.
Our Mother was a caring, attentive, wise, determined, hard working woman. Mom always kept a "close eye" on all of her children. We all remember Mom's Sunday dinners - we loved her cooking! Dorothy had many passions that included, gardening, puzzles, card games (she was quite the competitive cribbage player !), bingo and many trips to the Casino ! Dorothy worked at A&P for many years, and enjoyed her shifts with coworkers. Mom and Dad enjoyed their years together with many friends at their trailer. Dorothy will be missed dearly by her family and friends but she is at rest now after her courageous battle.
Many thanks and appreciation to Garden City Manor for taking excellent care of our Mother. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society. Cremation has taken place, and a private family celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the George Darte Funeral Home.
