Don was one of the first members in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba when in 1969 I transferred there from training. I went on early patrol one morning with Don to a kidnapping and I saw and was impressed by Don from the start. Unfortunately I transferred out in early 1970 and never spoke again with him. RIP Don we will meet up again one day.

“Uncle Donnie” was always a favourite visitor at the Pawlik house. He and Mary were a class act. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. Stas is sure going to miss his side-kick.

Sending our deepest condolences to all who loved and adored this most amazing man and especially to Karen, Alyssa, Josh, Grace, Zack and Tom. As a family we have so many memories of Don here in the Hammer and at the cottage. He was one of the wisest, kindest, funniest, most level-headed, salt of the earth men we have met. Thank you Donny for all you taught me vicariously through your daughters.
Sending all our love, Sarah, Glenn, Shane, and Kevin Simpson xoxo

I’m so sorry to hear that Don “Potsie” passed away on June 10/22. But even his passing he left in class.
Potsie was in my Highschool classes from grade 9-12 at Notre Dame Highschool in Welland. My name is Wayne Sargent Aka “Sarge”.I live in Winsor Ontario
Don was always a”cool” guy and a tremendous athlete especially in hockey but also baseball. He married such a classy lady -Mary Alexander she was fantastic
So sorry that she passed away 10 years ago but Don’s older daughter Karen (Pulla) was also his best friend-so cool- also it must have been tragic losing his younger daughter Jodi-but he always carried the memories of Mary & Jodi
I also heard that Don was also known as Potts- Potsie by his fellow RCMP officers and he was also “Classy” in his 25 years of service In fact it was a former RCMP officer Tom Gammon who now lives in Essex County that informed me of Potsie’s passing. Tom had told me some fantastic stories about Potts and how much Potts cared for his fellow officers and that he was so well liked and was respected by his fellow officers.
Karen, I have never met you but you must be a Fabulous person - I only wish that I could be there at the funeral home on Thursday between 1-4 pm to say hello and tell you that Potsie was so great to his class
mates at Notre Dame - and a tremendous guy;He was one of those wonderful people you thought that would live forever- well his memory and legend will live forever with his family and friends
Take Care & God Bless
RIP Don Pospietch Aka “Potts”& Potsie”
Also the Memorial video of Don was classic and so memorable for everyone
The staff at George Dart’s funeral home always make things as comfortable as possible for everyone
