McGinty, Helen “Ella” (nee Carr)
Surrounded by her three sons, Helen passed away peacefully on June 26, 2022 in her 91st year. She is now reunited with her husband, John (1996). Loving mother of Ken (Wendy), Derek (Sylvie), and Ian (Sandra). Cherished Nana to Sean, Evan (Erryn), Sarah (Bob), Graeme, Connor (Ally), Lauren. Great-Grandmother to Robertson and Kate. Predeceased by her parents, Nellie and Owen Carr, and her siblings, John (Helen) Carr, Margaret Haughian, and Patricia Griffin. Helen is survived by her brother-in-law Danny Haughian, and brothers, Jim and Eugene.
Born in Scotland, Helen immigrated to Canada in 1963. She was a longstanding member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, and a member of the CWL. She loved to travel, and spend time with her family.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, June 30th, 2022 at 11am at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 316 Queenston St., St. Catharines with interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by Helen’s family.
