Obituary of Alban Beaton

Alban (Al) Beaton “Big AL” passed away Thursday July 7 at the age of 83.  He died of a heart attack at St. Catharines General.

Al loved his friends and family.  He also loved a good party.  His High school year book quoted Al as being a “jolly good fellow” full of vim, verve and vitality.  That was certainly true of Al.  He also loved to fix things and tinker around with stuff.  He was a man who loved the outdoors, playing crib, cards, dancing and just being social.

Al met his sweet heart Sharon at a dance in the Niagara region.  They got married and had 2 children, Heather (Dave Liboiron) and Mark (Tamara).  Al was a proud ‘Gramps’ of 4 grandchildren.  Brynn, Sloan, Christopher and Rebecca. Special thanks to Sandra Duemo for her friendship and support.

Survived by his sisters Isabel Beaton of St. Catharines and Mabel (Frank) Barnard also of St Catharines.

The family will receive friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines, ON on Thursday, July 14th from 12 to 1 pm. A Final Tribute to Al will follow in the Ceremony Room of the funeral home at 1 p.m. Flowers gratefully declined, donations made to Pathstone Mental Health in Al's memory would be appreciated by his family.
