Obituary of Beverley Claire Cooper

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our guiding light, Beverley Claire Cooper on July 13th. Devoted wife of Frank Cooper for 59 years. Proud mother of Trevor (Christine) and Claire (George Gregory). Loving grandmother to Rachel, Benjamin, Joshua and Victoria. Beverley is survived by her sister-in-law Linda and predeceased by her parents Murray and Verna Smith, as well as her beloved brother Dr. Murray Smith. 

An astute business woman, Beverley had a successful career at Beneficial Finance and helped Frank in his early years at Pitfield Mackay before turning her attention to raising a family.

With her boundless energy and enthusiasm, Beverley also began her lifetime of community service. She was involved in numerous causes and fundraising including a 50 year membership with the Gyrette Club of St. Catharines where she served as a multi time Past President. In 1976 Beverley joined the May Court Club of St. Catharines and became President, a Lifetime Member and the Honorary President. Beverley also served as Association President of the May Court Club of Canada from 1990 to 1991.

Beverley always had grace and a warm smile, whether at the family dinner table, in a boardroom or playing bridge. Her community spirit lives on in her family and her example of a purposeful life well lived will remain our inspiration. The memory of her guiding light will never fade.

The funeral service will be held at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME at 585 Carlton Street, St, Catharines on July 27th at 11am with a Celebration of Life reception to follow at 1pm at the St. Catharines Club at 77 Ontario Street. In lieu of flowers, donations to either the May Court Club of St. Catharines or Knox Presbyterian Church of St. Catharines would be appreciated.
