I am still in shock and denial that I will not be able to talk to Brad and feed off his endless zest for life; I was expecting to see him over the break! His attitude and ability to fight adversity with honour and passion, his frank yet utterly non-judgemental thoughts, ... so many things I will dearly miss; he was and will always remain an insipiration to me. It is so sad when such a bright candle is not allowed to burn as long as it was supposed to.

I wanted to say that I am so sorry to hear of Brad's passing. We met a few years ago in St. Catharines when we were both in the same program through NAADAC. My mother is Nancy Young as well and she taught with Brad's father, Murray I believe. I just learned my mother knew the family when I mentioned seeing the notice in the paper and explained how I knew Brad.
I really enjoyed meeting Brad and always found him very entertaining and fun to be around. I wondered how he had made out after everyone left the group. I see, through the pictures, that he was doing well and had overcome his challenges.
Brad was one of my favourite people in our group and I was very sad to see his photo in the paper. I would not have known if it wasn't for the photo because we only learned each other's first names. I didn't want to post a public message due to the nature of how we knew each other but wanted to tell you that I was so very sorry to hear of his passing. He had such energy and great enthusiasm. I always smile when I think of him. I'm sure he will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
With deepest sympathy,
Paris

An evening with Brad and Sarah
My memory of Brad is when he and Sarah flew to Massachusetts to meet all of us, friends and family. Although the main course was Sarah's favorite, Papa Gino's pizza, Susan put out quite a spread of appetizers with the help of Brad who did all the chopping. Sarah couldn't have picked a more perfect addition to the family. When Susan relieved him of his duties, he and Sarah reclined side by side on the zero gravity chairs out on the back deck and enjoyed the beautiful summer afternoon. I remember that he was cutting a piece of fruit with a knife and eating it while we talked. Someone mentioned that he ate a lot of fruit! I could tell he was healthy and physically fit. Joe and I enjoyed a long conversation with them before the rest of the guests arrived. He and Joe wiht his engineering background particularly hit it off. The afternoon extended well into the evening when Richard built a fire. I don't remember what we talked about other than how big the dam fire was since it was coming out the sides of the fire pit. We just had a nice time lingering together on the porch. I will always remember that pleasant evening. Warm thoughts and sincere condolences to all of you that are missing such a great guy. I'm glad he and Sarah took the time to fly south to meet all of us so we could meet him too.

I was very shocked to hear of Brad's passing. I too played lacrosse with him as a member of the Regina Heat and he will be dearly missed. Brad demonstrated to me how much you could get out of life, his energy was contagious and he always brought a smile to my face whenever I was around him. I am sorry to hear of your loss, my deepest sympathies.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Brad's passing. I will remember him fondly as someone who was equally comfortable running around the lacrosse arena or discussing deep philosophical questions. His tenacity and courage in the face of a number of challenges will live on as an example to many of us. Please accept my condolences at his very difficult time.

I was truly shocked and saddened to hear of Brad's passing. I had the pleasure of playing lacrosse with Brad as a member of the Regina Heat. Brad played lacrosse like he lived life, full of passion and vigor. Brad had an ability to fill a room with laughter but at the same time bring a unique perspective to every conversation. Anytime I think of Brad, he brings a smile to my face…he will be fondly remembered and will be missed.
My condolences to his family and many friends.
