Obituary of Barbara Nadon
NADON, Barbara (nee ARCURI) Jan 24, 1937 – Aug 24, 2022
Our beloved Barbara has gained her wings and is now reunited with her daughter Jeannine in heaven. Although our hearts are breaking, we are at peace knowing that you and Jeannine are finally together again after a long 45 year wait.
Barbara died peacefully on August 24th in her 85th year at Hospice Niagara. Barbara was fighting courageously her third battle with cancer. Barbara was a loving, kind, and compassionate person. If you were lucky enough to know her, you would have experienced her “extremely” dry sense of humour. She was hilarious! Even after receiving her Terminal diagnosis, Barbara took the time to ensure everyone else would be looked after once she was gone. She planned everything, and made her wishes known.
She was born and raised in Timmins Ontario, Barbara spent most of her adult years living in Toronto and St. Catharines. She worked for the Bank of Nova Scotia and in Sales at Canadian Tire. Barbara also was an entrepreneur and operated a convenience store, Ridley Variety in the West End of St. Catharines for several years. Barbara was fiercely independent a very strong woman right until the end and lived independently before she went to Hospice a week before her death.
Barbara will be especially missed by her sister Cecilia and her long time friend Marilyn, along with her Faith Family at Covenant Church. Barbara was loved by her many Nieces and Nephew and family; Chris (Jams), Jessie (Jonah), Corinne (Kevin, Alex), Stacy (Bob), Mark (Shona, Samantha, Sarah), Caroline (Valerie), Debbra (Graydon), Rachel (Stephan) and sister-in-law Margaret Arcuri. She was predeceased by her Daughter Jeannine (1977), Parents Carmine and Sarah Arcuri, Siblings Annina Arcuri, Ralph Arcuri and Edward Arcuri.
The family will receive friends at the George Darte Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Tuesday, August 30th from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Final Tribute for Barbara will take place Wednesday morning, August 31st at Covenant Christian Reformed Church, 278 Parnell Road at 11am. Interment Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Donations made in Barbara's memory to Hospice Niagara would be appreciated b y her family.
