Obituary of Elizabeth Annette Herbert
Surrounded by loved ones, Elizabeth (Beth) was reunited
with her loving husband of 60 years. She passed away peacefully
in her 83rd year, at Niagara Health-St. Catharines Site, on August
25, 2022. Beth is predeceased by her beloved husband, Douglas,
her brother Daniel Stones and dear friends Dot and Bruce Culp.
She was a cherished mother to Tracey (Gerard), Tim (Leanne) and
Troy (Sheilah). She was a proud and adoring Grammie to Braeden
(Heather), Faryn (John), Brenna (Eric), Alex (Emma-Lee), Emily,
Shelby and Tristan and Great Grammie to Tessa, whom she loved
dearly. Beth is also survived by her brothers and sisters in-law
Gord (Bev), Barry (Holly) and Keith (Yvonne), as well as many
nieces and nephews. Beth will be sadly missed by her cousins
Laurie (Barry), Shelley (Kurt) and Brian (Alice) and dear friends,
Peggy (John), and Irma (Dick) and their families.
Beth has persevered through many health concerns over
the last 20 years. Her strength, determination and positive
attitude have been an inspiration to those who knew her. She
received home care by Paramed, St. Elizabeth and March of
Dimes and had great fondness for the wonderful and
compassionate staff who cared for her and her late husband.
Beth was a strong woman who’s love for her family and friends
was always evident. She was happiest when her home was filled
with loved ones talking, laughing and sharing stories of past
holidays, celebrations, pool parties and the occasional dirty
joke. Beth was blessed to spend 60 years with the love of her life
Doug, who passed away 8 months ago. The love they shared was
beautiful and enduring to the very last moments of her life.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to
Dr. Whitty, for his many years of compassionate care and to the
CCU staff at the St. Catharines hospital for their warmth and
support. Thank you to Dr. Broski , as well as, the outstanding
staff of St. Elizabeth, Paramed and March of Dimes for their
dedication. A time to reflect on Beth's life will be held at the
GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St.
Catharines on Thursday, September 1. Visitation will be 11am
-1:00 pm with the service starting at 1:00pm; reception to
