Obituary of Tom Fitzpatrick
FITZPATRICK, Tom - It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas Fitzpatrick on August 30, 2022, in his 99th year. Born in England in 1923, Tom was a paratrooper during the war years, professional boxer, and soccer player before moving to Canada in 1957. There he worked as a bricklayer before embarking on a long career at the City of St. Catharines in by-law enforcement. Predeceased by his wife Joyce, Tom leaves behind his three children: Jeff (Judy) Fitzpatrick, Lynn (Kathy) Fitzpatrick, and Elaine (Dennis) Friske. He also leaves behind four grandsons, Mark (Megan) Fitzpatrick, Ryan (Marnie) Fitzpatrick, Neil Friske, and Derek Friske, and five great grandchildren, Mason, Kiara, Emma, Evan, and Zoe. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Carol-Dean Jeffries for her many years of friendship and care. Thank you also to Maureen Peskett for the care that she provided. We will all miss his sharp wit, infectious laugh, love for music, singing, and food of any kind (especially desserts). Cremation has taken place and will be followed by a private family internment. In memory of Tom, donations can be made to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB).
