Obituary of Ceofred Gaudet

GAUDET, Ceofred †œFred†� Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving children on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at the St. Catharines General Hospital, in his 87th year. Ceofred has been reunited with his beloved wife Josephine (1991). Loving father of Ron, Linda (Charmaine), Wayne (Laura), Mary (Wendi), Debbie. Ceofred is survived by his sister Edna Gaudet and sister-in-law Evelyn Gallant both of P.E.I., also by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his siblings Rita, Clarence and Edmund. Known as "Little P.E. I." to his siblings, Ceofred was born there in 1925. Ceofred and his brothers served in WWII and following the war he moved to St. Catharines, where he met his wife Josephine (also from P.E. I.). Ceofred was employed at General Motors where he retired after forty years. Ceofred was a man of faith and he was a dedicated parishioner of St. Alfred's Church. Ceofred will be greatly missed and remembered as a wonderful loving father. A special thank you to Fr. Andy Goodwin, Dr. Arvinte, Dr. Delrue, Dr. St. Amand, the nursing staff at the St. Catharines General Hospital and Andrea of C.C.A.C. for all their care and support. Ceofred's family will receive family and friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. on Wednesday, August 15 from 6-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Alfred's Catholic Church, 272 Vine St. on Thursday, August 16, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Rite of Committal to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Vigil prayers will be recited in the funeral home Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Hospice Niagara at http://www.hospiceniagara.ca/.
