My Aunt Karen, a constant ray of sunshine ❤️
I have been so blessed to have her in my life since the beginning. As I have spent some time reflecting, there are so many fond memories of her that I will always hold dear to my heart. From birth, to birthday parties, to summer vacations in Labrador, New Brunswick, Quebec, PEI, Ontario, Florida, and England, and my wedding day. She has been there through it all.
She was strong. One of my most vivid memories is of Samantha and I at Square Pond Park and joking, “Do you ever notice when we go camping, Aunt Karen and Dad do all the hard work while Uncle Don and mom do the easy stuff?”
She was a good listener. She has always been a listening ear for me when I’ve needed advice.
She was bold. When I needed help dealing with conflict, she came up with a plan, and helped give me the courage to stand up for what was right.
She was resilient. She battled cancer for nearly 6 years. She didn’t give up, lived her life to the fullest, and remained strong in her faith through it all.
I am so grateful that Emmy got to meet her, and I will make sure she grows up hearing stories about her Great Aunt Karen. The strongest woman I ever knew.
She will be dearly missed.
To Uncle Don, Danielle, Devin, and Katrina, you are in our thoughts and prayers during this time. Love you all ❤️

I was saddened to hear of Karen’s passing. I know she had a long , tough journey. Even though as adults, our paths rarely crossed, I have childhood memories of Karen and I spending summers together in Point Leamington. We spent many hours at the playground, skipping and just hanging out.
My condolences to her family. She will be missed by many.

Hi Don and family
I just heard the news about Karen. I can't believe it. She put in a good fight
I remember the time we were playing ball hockey with the teens at the church in Lab.City and Karen was blocking shots and doing everything flat out whatever she can do going against all the teenage boy's lol.
Only thing was, she was doing this WHILE she was pregnant!! and then me frightening her after in the office lol.
Nobody knew that she was pregnant. And She kept it secret until then lol.
OH my.. Good times we had while ye were in Labrador city.
Good memories.
My thoughts and prayers going out to you and the family
