Obituary of Mary Schertzer

SCHERTZER, Mary Peacefully passed away with her loving family by her side at Niagara Ina Grafton Gage Village on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 in her 88th year. Beloved wife of Andy for 69 years. Loving mother of Andy (Janie) and Trudy (Danny) Novak of Brantford. Cherished Grandma of Shawn (Joanne) Novak, Greg Novak (Tina Noble), Natalie (Tony) Palermo, Laura (Steve) Valvasori and Amie (Troy) Huisman. Proud Oma of Owen, Griffin, Cali, Samantha, Justin, Stella and Gavin. Mary is predeceased by her sister Katie Schertzer. Mary and Andy are both long time members of Grace Lutheran Church. Mary was passionate about her family and she enjoyed gardening and sewing. She will be remembered as a very loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. A special thank you to the staff of Niagara Ina Grafton Gage for their kindness and support over the past 10 years. Visitation will be held at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., on Thursday, August 2, 2012 from 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 213 Linwell Rd., on Friday, August 3, 2012 at 11 a.m. with an hour of visitation at the church prior to the ceremony. Burial to follow at Niagara Lakeshore Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Niagara Ina Grafton Gage Village or to the Grace Lutheran Church.
