My Dad was truly one of a kind. I have told him many times that he ruined all men for us. We would laugh but he truly set a bar that couldn’t be reached. This man exhibited such selflessness that it was overwhelming. He was there the very first day of my life and I have been blessed to know him for 53 years. I wanted a hundred more. He was always the person who would pet my head well life had kicked my butt. No matter what he would always be there with a tender thought, kiss & solution to whatever problem. I have lost my person. I have lost my Daddy. You were one hell of a man Dad. We drank a Drambuie shot & smiled at the memories. Rest in peace Daddy you too we meet again.
Love Lisa

You don’t often here too much about Father In Laws, but mine was one of the best. He was known as Poppy to his grandchildren and I even called him that sometimes. Gilbert was was a thinker, always mentally tearing down things and mentally building them back up before actually physically tearing them down and putting things back together just like new. I would often drop by to borrow a tool as my Father In Law had 5 of each kind of tool in his garage lol. I would often listen to him speak about the workings of every day machinery or how cars had changed mechanically from the 50’s until present day. It’s as almost as if he had lived 10 life times with all that knowledge. He was a good guy with a vast amount of knowledge, but what made him stand out in my mind is the time he took to spend with my twins boys, Campbell and William. It was never about him but always about them. Whether it was playing crib or fishing at the cottage, or Wednesday afternoon pickup after school to eat nannies home cooked meals from scratch (pasta and meatballs), it was always about creating those cherished memories that they will never forget. I will miss those conversations and the times I spent with him in the garage and at the cottage but most of all I will miss the time he took to love and cherish Campbell and William. I miss you Gilbert (Poppy)

I am very sorry to hear of the passing of Gilbert. I met him via Laurette Telllier's son and mother several years ago. He was the uncle that my good friend, Gerry, noted as being such a delight to talk to and be with and had a passion also for cars, canoes and people in general. When I met him finally, I saw the spark / light of happiness that just jumps from his whole being. He comes alive to chat, listen and do his best at all he touches - be it in carpentry, travel to the cottage, his family and loving his wife's (Judy) cooking. He will be sorely missed for sure. Rest In Peace. Peace to the family and those dear and near to him.

One of my fondest memories of Uncle Gilbert ,Lisa and I have laughed about this many times. The evening before my wedding we indulged a little I too much wine . The next day we could not remember where the car had been parked( we did not drive that night ) . Uncle Gilbert and my Dad to the rescue to bring is to our hair appointments the day of the wedding ! Could always count on him to get you out of a jam ! So many memories over the years. Lisa and I could be a handful together . Gilbert "tried" to keep us on the straight and narrow. He knew best even when we did not ! Love you Uncle Gilbert. Say hi to Trina and Juels . They will be in good hands xox
