Parker Bowman

Obituary of Parker Robert Edgar Bowman

On Friday, Feb. 17, we lost our beautiful son Parker to the disease of drug addiction.

Parker (Uncle P to his friends), was a wonderful soul, who loved life, his family and his friends.  He lit up a room like no one else could.  People were drawn to his personality and natural joy of life.

If there can be any light in this darkness, it is that Parker has been able to save a few lives through the gift of organ donation.

He is survived by his loving and caring mother Tracey, whom he spent so much time with, enjoying their shared passions for art exploring, music and nature.  She never once gave up on Parker.

He is also survived by his big brother Brandon who he looked up to in so many ways.  And by his step-father Mark who wondered at his ability to bring people together and the energy he brought to the life he lived.

He will be greatly missed by his loving aunt Lori (Kevin) and cousins Alex, Caleb, Kyle and Payton.

Parker will always be loved and so dearly missed by family and friends across Canada and also by his faithful dog Lilly.

If you are struggling, reach out for help.  If you are a parent of a struggling child, don’t give up.  Although we may not be able to save them, we must try.  Abandoning them should never be an option.  Refusing to see them or include them in your life should not be an option either.  A more committed effort on the part of pharmaceutical companies, governments and law enforcement is needed to help the people suffering from mental health issues such as addiction and the opioid crisis in particular.

There will be a visitation for close family and friends in the Community Room at 5055 Greenlane Rd., Beamsville, ON, on Saturday, February 25th.  This is an informal drop-in, anytime between 1:00 and 6:00 p.m.  Casual attire preferred.
