Obituary of Paul Edward Nichols
It is with great sadness the family announce the passing of Paul Edward Nichols on Friday, March 3rd 2023 in his 86th year. Paul leaves behind his cherished wife of 61 years, Barbara Nichols (nee Mitton); loving children: Mark (Marjorie), Christine (Jim) and Virginia (Don); grandchildren: Kelsey, Jordan, Reid, Mallory, Taylor, Aidan and Jonas; great-grandchildren: Jaekob, Eryn, Riley, Ryker, Vivianne and his brother Dennis. Paul was predeceased by his parents, Maurice and Mabel Nichols, brothers Donald and Jack. Paul graduated from Collegiate and made a career for himself with the Seaway Authority for many years and retired with the Gerber Products Company when he was 55. He enjoyed spending time with his family, was an avid runner, played basketball for most of his life and was a member of the United Church. In accordance with Paul’s wishes, funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. The family invites guests for a brief visitation on Friday, March 10th 2023 from 10:00AM – 10:45AM with a funeral service beginning at 11:00AM in the funeral home ceremony room. An inurnment will be held at Victoria Lawn Cemetery with a reception to follow at the funeral home. If desired, the family wish for donations to be made in honour of Paul to the Parkinson’s Society of Canada.
