Obituary of Joanne Balaskas

BALASKAS, Joanne - After a courageous battle with cancer, Joanne passed away peacefully at the Juravinski Hospital on March 7, 2023.  Joanne was the beloved daughter of Sokratis and the late Dimitra (2021), and much loved sister of George. Joanne will be dearly missed by her many family and friends in Canada and Greece.

Visitation will take place on Friday, March 10th, 2023, from 5-9p.m. at George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton St, St. Catharines.  The First Thrice Holy Hymn Service\Trisagio will take place on Friday March 10th at 6 p.m. at the Funeral Home. The Second Thrice Holy Hymn Service\Trisagio will take place on Saturday, March 11th, 2023 at 11:00 a.m., and will be followed by the Funeral Service at St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church. The Third Thrice Holy Hymn Service\Trisagio and burial will occur after the Funeral Service at Victoria Lawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church would be appreciated by the family.
