Obituary of Reta Lucille Harrison
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Reta in her 89th year after a short illness. Reta is predeceased by her husband, Roy, sister, Beth Leakey, and sister-in-law, Patricia Hare.
Reta is lovingly remembered by her children, Todd Harrison (Sharon) and Mary-Ann Sehgal (Ralph), her grandchildren, Heather Wearing (Darcy), Patrick Harrison (Kit), Stuart Harrison (Kasha) and Matthew Sehga; as well as great-grandchildren: Roland, Alexa, Holly, Violet, Marcus and Maverick Wearing, brother-in-law, Stuart Leakey and sister-in-law Judi Harrison (Ethne).
Reta was born in Kingston but grew up in Gananoque. She supported her husband in his career with stops in Montreal, Quispamsis (NB), and ultimately settling in St Catharines. Her purpose in life was supporting her family, which resulted with Mom being the central figure in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. “GG” supported her family members in all their pursuits and she attended many sporting events and was a great score-keeper for baseball teams! She loved all sports and was a huge supporter of the Blue Jays and the Montreal Canadiens. Reta was the quiet, strong and steady presence in our lives and we already miss her terribly.
We would like to thank Dr. Peter Hyatt, and her nurse with St. Elizabeth, Amanda.
The family will receive friends at the George Darte Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 585 Carlton St., on Wednesday May 3 from 2-4 & 6-8pm. A Final Tribute for Reta will be held on Thursday morning, May 5th at St. Columba Anglican Church, 7 St. Columba Dr. at 11am. Cremation.
If so desired, donations made in Reta's memory to the Walker Family Cancer Centre or to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by her family.
