Obituary of Theresa Mary Wilson
"Wilson, Theresa Mary ( Labonté ) Passed away on May 24th at 7:30pm surrounded by loving family, after seeing all of her brothers and sisters earlier in the day, Mom now joins our Dad Jeff in Heaven. Mom passed away at Hotel Dieu Shaver at the young age of 65. Cherished Mother of Tara (Jason) Kohut and Jason (Heather) Wilson, Loving Gaga of Avery Jane (Justin) and Brenden Kohut. Will also be missed by her fur grandpuppies, Riley and Willow. Adored sister of Loretta Wells, Cathy (Ches) Sulkowski, Dan (Sarina) Labonté, Kevin Labonté, Maureen (Marty) Butts and her sister-in-law, Tish Labonté.
Theresa was predeceased by her father Gedeon Labonté, her mother Mary Labonté and her oldest brother, Mike Labonté. Mom will be missed by her nieces, nephews and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Theresa worked at Star of the Sea Church for over 40 years taking over for her mother when she passed away. Mom was also involved with many groups through the Church such as St. Vincent De Paul and the Catholic Women’s League. Mom could be seen walking everywhere especially throughout Port Dalhousie and usually with a book in hand as she was an avid reader. Mom was a bird watcher just like our Dad, and loved being outside, watching the birds while gardening.
We would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the NHS St. Catharines ER department and floor 3A, the Walker Family Cancer Centre and the Hotel Dieu Shaver for their compassion and help provided for our Mom. We would especially like to thank the Co-ordinator, nurse, nurse practitioner and the PSW from Care Partners, Para-Med and Home and Community Care Niagara for their gentle care of our mother and helping keep her home with us as long as possible.
The family will receive friends and family at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton St., on Monday, May 29, from 2-4 & 6-8pm. Funeral Mass will be held at Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, 34 Elgin St., on Tuesday, May 30, at 11 am.
