Obituary of Karen Anne Watt
We are heartbroken to announce that Karen Watt passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family on Thursday June 1st, 2023, at the St. Catharines Hospital.
Beloved wife and best friend of 30 years to David (D. Jan 26 2023 RIP) and loving Mum of Fiona and Erin (Drew).
Karen leaves behind her cherished parents Bill and Maureen Starrs. Sister Cheryl (Susie), and Uncle Brian (Ann) McKeown. Sister-in-Law to Michael (Christine) and Pauline (Jim). Daughter-in-law to Patricia. Special Aunt to Meghan, Clare, and Frances. She will be missed greatly by lifelong friends Tami (Keith) Boulton, Wanda (George) Botyanski, Julie (Paul) Gerrard and Julie (Rick) Hamilton.
Karen’s family would like to thank the ICU team, nurses (Bailey, Sarah and Karen) for the exceptional care provided to Karen prior to passing. As well as Nurse Deb and Dr. Vandermeer for their ongoing dedication to Karen’s health, thank you for being so exceptional.
Even before her cancer diagnosis, Karen would always remind everyone that life is too short. Experience everything, go do it, go buy it, go see it, just eat it, try it and do it all over again. Karen never took a day of her life for granted.
In accordance with Karen’s wishes, the funeral arrangements have been entrusted with GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. The family wish to invite guests for visitation at the funeral home on Thursday, June 8th from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM and Friday, June 9th from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Walker Family Cancer Centre or NHS Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.
